LAs we all know, a large object is actually made up of small components. As a common urban electronic device, the LED display is also composed of some small components. Now, let’s talk about it in detail.

1. LED unit board

simply put, it is one of the core components of LED displays. It directly affects the display effect. The unit board is composed of the LED module, the driver chip and the PCB (printed circuit board). Some people may not know much about the LED module. It is actually made up of many LED luminous spots encapsulated by resin or plastic field-array.

2. Wires

It mainly includes data lines, transmission lines and power lines. More specifically, the data line is the flat cable used to connect the control card and the LED unit board. The transmission line is used to connect the control card and computer. 

The power line, which is easier to understand, is used to connect the power source, control card and LED unit board. The diameter of the copper core of the power line connecting the unit board is not less than 1mm. 

The flat cable is similar to the data line inside the computer case, except that the width is slightly different. Special pliers (picture) are needed to make flat cables. It can greatly improve the work efficiency and the yield. 

Materials for making flat cables include cables, cable heads and cable caps. It should be noted that if you want to make a 16-pin flat cable, you need to buy a cable head and a cable cap that of the corresponding size. 

Steps: cut cables flat with scissors, place the first cable head (be careful about the balance between cables and the cable head), put it in the center of the crimping pliers, press firmly, wind cables around and install the cable cap. The cable cap is very important. It can protect the flat cable and keep it firm and tight. We can’t miss this part.

3. Power source

as one of the main parts of LED displays, LED power source plays an important role. According to research data, more than 80% of breakdowns are caused by the power source. Product quality depends on the producer while customer’s relief lies in choosing a good producer. When selecting the special power source for LED displays, you need to consider the characteristics of your LED display. So, how to choose the power source for LED displays?

a. Firstly, choose the power source with good appearance, which means that the uniformity of its components array is excellent.

b. Secondly, check the efficiency of the power source. The energy-saving level of the power source is based on efficiency. When a good power source is full loaded, the efficiency must be higher than 80%. The higher the efficiency is, the less the active power input will be.

c. Thirdly, the PFC value is also important for the efficiency. The PF value of a power source without the PFC function may be lower than 0.6. A low PF value will increase reactive power and cause huge power losses. 

d. Fourthly, ensure excellent stability for the power source, which will affect the stability and working life of LED displays. It can be suggested by the ripple and the rise of temperature. The power source with good stability has a low ripple and a small rise of temperature.

4. Control card

The control principle of the LED display screen is that the computer DVI display card sends a signal to the sending card, sending card transmits data to the receiving card, and the receiving card directly transmits data to the LED display screen. It is worth noting that due to the large area of the LED display screen, each receiving card can handle limited data. The ideal number of points for a single receiving card with regular refresh frequency is 192 × 192, and the indoor space is small, such as p2.5, P 3. The refresh frequency is 32 scans, and the width of a single receiving card cannot exceed 128 pixels. Otherwise, the LED display will flash very fast, and the height can be brought to 256. The conventional outdoor series LED display is usually 4-scan or 8-scan, and there is no problem to carry according to 256 × 256.

5. LED cabinet material

 

1) Iron led box appeared in the early stage of LED industry development. The box was slightly larger and heavier. The size of the iron LED display box was 1280 mm × 960 mm, 960 mm × 960 mm, 768 mm × 768 mm, etc. The iron box body has the seal and the simple box body. With the same size and material, the price of a sealed led box is higher than that of a simple box.

a. The protection level of the sealed led box can reach IP65, and it can work normally in various environments, mainly used outdoor.

b. The simple LED display box is relatively simple and mainly used indoors.

2). High tech material led box is mainly divided into nano polymer and carbon fiber. These two kinds of the LED box are not popular at present, only a few LED display manufacturers are using it.

a. Nano polymer LED box has the characteristics of anti-shock and anti-fall. At the same time, the weight of the LED box is much lighter than that of the conventional box. The weight of a single box is only about 5kg. Moreover, the price is lower than that of the die-casting aluminum box, which is easy to load and unload, and easy to handle; it saves money, and the truss cost is low, and the transportation cost is low. 

b. The appearance of a carbon fiber led box solves the problem that led display cannot be installed in some sites due to the limitation of load and rigging. The carbon fiber box is characterized by ultra-thin, lightweight, good strength and high-tension resistance. The fully modular design makes maintenance more convenient. The 45-degree right angle side can realize the 90-degree splicing installation of the screen body.

3). Magnesium alloy led box magnesium alloy is based on magnesium, adding other elements to form the alloy. Its characteristics are small density, high specific strength, large specific modulus of elasticity, good heat dissipation, good shock absorption, greater impact load-bearing capacity than aluminum alloy, good corrosion resistance to organic matter, and alkali. Magnesium alloy is used as an LED box with high-cost performance, easy installation, and excellent heat dissipation, which makes the products have more market advantages.

 4). The die-casting aluminum LED box has the advantages of lightweight, reasonable structure, high precision, and can realize seamless splicing. At present, it basically occupies the indoor and rental LED display market. The die-casting aluminum LED box has been comprehensively optimized and updated from the aspects of structure and performance. It is a compact rental display screen made by patent. The box has high splicing accuracy and is extremely convenient for disassembly and maintenance.
