How to build a high-quality outdoor LED screen safely? Specifically speaking, there are four links in the installation of outdoor led billboards: examine on the spot, equipment construction, installation, debugging, and display.
1. Examine on the spot.
This refers to that before the installation of an outdoor LED billboard, the parameters such as the specific environment, topography, luminous radiation range, brightness acceptance ability. In order to ensure the smooth installation of the billboard, it is required to carry out a unified lifting scheme for the commander before the lifting installation to ensure the normal and stable use of the equipment.
The LED display is a customized product. It is not the same as general electronic consumer products but involves the implementation of a complete set of system design scheme. From the pre-sale including the overall scheme design to the after-sale construction, installation, debugging and maintenance, many times need to be completed jointly by manufacturers and consumers. The following are matters needing attention:

Before departure, we need to communicate with the user in advance to understand his specific requirements and have a preliminary judgment. And this mainly includes:
① Type and size of the led screen
② Installation environment
③ Display content and method
④ Communication mode
–Specific contents
① LED display installation and analysis of stress. In addition, according to the specific size of the display screen, confirm whether there are obstacles at the installation site that hinder the installation of the display screen.
In case of inlaid installation, whether the reserved installation slot is suitable;
If there is a decorative partition in the wall, the wall condition must be surveyed;
If it is a column type installation, the geological condition must be explored.(whether the soil is soft and whether there is sediment at the bottom of the geological layer. And it will cause the column and screen to sink as a whole, with the risk of collapse)
② Power supply on site. The capacity of the machine room or AC transformer, whether the cables need to be rearranged, or whether the wire diameter of the arranged cables meets the requirements; if it is single-phase power, whether there is grounding wire; if it is three-phase power, whether it is three-phase five-wire. In case of rewiring, it is necessary to accurately measure the length of the power line on site.
③ Understand the control distance of the display screen and whether the communication line is smooth. It is necessary to estimate the length of the communication line on site, and whether other equipment needs to be connected to the display control terminal.
If the user has already wired, determine the length and quantity of the wired. The transmission distance of the normal synchronous system using super five network lines shall be less than 100m. Optical fiber must be used for more than 100 meters, a multimode optical fiber can be used for less than 500 meters, and single-mode optical fiber must be used for more than 500 meters.
④ Tools that need to be carried, such as tape and laser ruler. Inconvenient tools such as scaffolds can be provided by users or rented locally.
⑤ The external environment of the site. Attention shall be paid to dampproof for indoor installation, waterproof and lightning protection for outdoor installation; whether the location is close to the sea, and whether there is a typhoon. In addition, you need to observe the viewing distance of the audience, the installation height of the display screen, and the direction of the sun.
⑥ Try to shoot or video all the situations on site. Shoot in different angles and details without missing the details.
⑦ Whether the user has special requirements, whether it can be realized and the difficulty of the project in case of special requirements.
2. Equipment construction
When building outdoor LED billboards, it is necessary to distinguish between wall advertising screen, hanging advertising screen and roof advertising screen.
During the actual installation, according to the distance and height, the crane and the winch shall be used for lifting in sections, and the personnel above shall cooperate with each other.
3. Luminous radiation range debugging.
After the construction, in order to achieve the best propagation effect, we need to debug the luminous radiation range.
Due to the different radiation ranges, the perspective of LED display screen construction is also different. According to the field acceptance ability and the normal perspective range, outdoor LED display screen should be fixed and installed, so as to ensure that each angle can be viewed from a distance, and normal, brightness balanced images and subtitle information can be seen. Only when the large perspective is matched with the appropriate brightness, can the display effect be maximized.
4. Subsequent inspection and maintenance.
In order to successfully deliver to use, we need to carry out subsequent inspection and maintenance. This includes many ranges, such as LED display water-proof, heat dissipation layer, led waterproof coating, rainproof range above the display screen, heat dissipation air on both sides, power supply line, etc. these basic parts and components constitute the whole stable LED display screen. In the later stage of technical maintenance, it is necessary to carry out unified management and maintenance for these parts and components and encounter product rust and instability. when it is damaged, it needs to be replaced in time to ensure the safe use of the whole display screen.

In order to obtain more benefits, many manufacturers often reduce the design standard of steel structure and wire rod, use inferior steel, hire low-cost labor, and so on, causing potential accidents. Here are some other matters to be considered when installing outdoor LED billboard:
(1) The display screen installed outdoors, which is often exposed to the weather and dusty.
The working environment is much worse than the indoor screen. Electronic equipment will cause a short circuit or even fire if it is wet or seriously affected with damp, resulting in an incalculable loss.
The large outdoor screen shall be equipped with ventilation equipment to cool down so that the internal temperature of the screen body is – 10 ℃ ~ 40 ℃. An axial-flow fan is installed above the back of the screen to exhaust heat; industrial IC chips with a working temperature between – 40 ℃ and 80 ℃ are selected to prevent the large screen system from starting due to low temperature in winter.
In addition, the screen and the junction between the screen and the building must be strictly waterproof and leakproof; the screen must have good drainage measures, once there is water, it can be discharged smoothly; pay attention to waterproof and moisture-proof. It is worth noting that the protection level (front/back) of the outdoor LED display screen shall be at least IP65 / IP54. And it shall not be lower than this protection level.
(2) The display screen may be shocked by lightning.
(3) The ambient temperature changes greatly.
First of all, the LED screen will generate a lot of heat when it works. If the ambient temperature is too high and the heat dissipation is poor, the screen may not work normally, or even be burned.
(4) Use high-quality wire rod.
The larger the area of the LED screen is, the larger its power consumption is, and the higher the requirement for the power on the stability of the wire rod is. The safety and stability of wire can only be guaranteed by using a wire that meets the requirements of national standards. Among many wire products, there are three requirements to be emphasized: the wire core is the copper conductor carrier, the cross-sectional area tolerance of wire core is within the standard range, and the insulation and fire resistance of the rubber covering the wire core should meet the national standards.
(5) Installation of the steel structure.
As a steel structure carrying large outdoor LED screens, its firmness shall be ensured during installation to achieve the function of wind resistance and earthquake resistance.
Generally, the installation area of the screen is large, and most of it is installed in densely populated places. The design of its steel structure should consider many factors such as foundation, wind load, water-proof, dust-proof, moisture-proof, environmental temperature, lightning protection, surrounding population density, etc.
At the same time, auxiliary equipment such as power distributor, air conditioner, fan, lighting, etc. shall be placed in the steel structure, and maintenance facilities such as raceway and ladder shall be provided.
In addition, the erection of the scaffold is an important link in the process of steel structure construction. Before the erection of the scaffold, it must be ensured that the scheme has undergone rigorous design calculation and scheme demonstration and that the site construction is carried out according to the specifications and the inspection is carried out at all times to eliminate the safety problems caused by the erection of the scaffold.
(6) Select the appropriate power distributor.
For the LED screen with a power consumption over 10kW, a special power distributor shall be provided.
According to the needs, the distributor with remote control function or PLC control is a good choice. The distributor with PLC control function is more intelligent. The LCD controller can be used to remotely operate the outdoor LED screen, the switch of air conditioner, fan, and other equipment on the screen. At the same time, it can also monitor the ambient temperature in the screen and the ambient brightness outside the screen in real-time and has corresponding alarm information.
In order to prevent leakage fire, a fire-proof leakage switch shall be installed at the main switch of the power incoming line. The LCD controller monitoring interface in the power distributor can display the real-time temperature on the screen.
In the automatic state, when the temperature inside the screen exceeds 65 degrees, the monitoring screen will prompt that the temperature is too high. At the same time, the LCD controller will give an alarm sound, and the system will automatically cut off the power to prevent fire.
According to the actual situation, smoke detectors can be installed on the screen. When there is a fire, there will be corresponding prompt information on the monitoring interface, and at the same time, the linkage power distribution system will automatically power off.
If the workflow is not arranged in advance, traveling to a far place for field survey will have a significant adverse impact on the installation of the LED screen, and will also cause some troubles to users. In fact, not all LED screens must be surveyed by the merchants themselves.
